Legislation

We are fighting for permanent changes in Presentation High School leadership to protect all the students at Presentation High School and in our community. We are also working with our elected officials to enact changes to laws that affect sexual abuse survivors and increase the statute of limitations for failure to report child abuse. Join us in support of these changes.

2019 Session:

  • Assembly Bill 218 (Fletcher): To give victims of childhood sexual assault more time to bring cases in civil court due to the unique situation of these victims, and take a hard stance against individuals and entities engaged in covering up evidence.

2018 Session:

  • Assembly Bill 2302 (Baker): To lengthen the statute of limitations on failure to report child sexual abuse from one year to five years. PASSED in 2018. Effective January 1, 2019.
  • Assembly Bill 3120 (Fletcher): To eliminate the civil statute of limitations for victims of childhood sexual assault. VETOED in 2018.
  • Senate Bill 1456 (Morrell): To stop schools from “passing the trash” to other schools. Died in committee in 2018. Being revised for 2019 legislative cycle.
